Pre-submittal checklists by CSI division
One free checklist per division. Run it before you send the package, so the problems get caught by you instead of the reviewer.
Short answer
A pre-submittal checklist is the list of checks a subcontractor runs before sending a submittal: products match the spec, performance values meet the numbers, certifications are attached, finishes match the selection, details match the drawings, and nothing required is missing. Pick your division below for the full list, printable and free with no email.
Each checklist is built from the same division-by-division deviation taxonomy Deviation Check uses to review submittals. Every one has six checks plus five steps that apply to any trade, and every one prints cleanly or downloads as a PDF.

Frequently asked questions
Why run a checklist before sending a submittal?
A package that comes back Revise and Resubmit costs you a full review cycle, often two weeks or more, and can hold up fabrication and your pay application. Most of what gets a package returned is visible before you send it: a swapped product, a missing test report, a value below the spec number.
Do I need an account or an email address?
No. Every checklist page and PDF is free and open. Your ticks save in your own browser, nowhere else.
What if my section is not listed on the checklist?
The checklists cover the most common sections in each division, and the six checks apply to any section. Use the submittal checklist generator to put your exact section number on the sheet.
